Professional Exchange SNEAK PEEK: US Department of State

The Professional Exchange committee has been hard at work securing Summer 2015 site visits for EACE college members!  Most site visits will occur June-August, but the State Department requested to host in May and there was no way we wanted to turn them down.  Therefore:

US Department of State Professional Exchange Site Visit

Friday, May 8 from 9am-1pm

Washington, DC

Registration for this site visit will open on Monday, April 6 at  The cost is FREE.

Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis and only EACE members are permitted to register. Due to the anticipated demand for this event, we request that only one EACE member from each college/university registers for this site visit.

Site Visit Description:

The US Department of State will brief EACE members on Student Programs and the hiring process for Civil Service and Foreign Service careers. The State Department will also have a chance for senior Department officials to engage with the visitors and take time for a walking tour of the Department of State’s headquarters.

A no-host lunch has been scheduled for the group and it is optional.  An 8th floor dining room has been reserved in the Harry S Truman Building (overlooking the National Mall and the Lincoln Memorial); it is a dining room open to all Department of State employees.  Each attendee will need to cover his/her cost for lunch.  It is a buffet lunch and the cost is $20-$25. The registration form will ask if you plan to attend lunch.
